The exam settings are located in the "Configure" tab. The menu on the right side of the page allows you to go directly to each section.

Time Management
Time Limit: Select “For the entire exam” to set a single countdown timer for all questions. Participants see the total time remaining before they start, and then a countdown timer during the exam.
Time Accommodations: Once the time limit is enabled, automatically grant extra time to eligible participants. See Manage Time Accommodations
Question Display
Free Navigation: Participants can freely move from one question page to another.
Random order: Shuffle sections, pages, questions on a page, or answer choices so that each test is unique.
Built-in calculator: Participants can perform calculations without leaving theEvalmee window.
Anti-cheating measures
Full-screen mode required: Participants take the exam in full-screen mode.
Screen exit alert: Participants are notified if they leave the exam screen.
Screen recording: Suspicious Moments captures the screen when a participant exits the exam (recommended in a testing center, when many participants share the same connection). Continuous video records the screen throughout the exam (recommended for remote exams with a stable connection). When screen recording is enabled, the exam is accessible only on a computer, not on a tablet or smartphone. Included starting with the Pro plan.
Block spell-checkers: Disables spell-checkers and blocks access to the exam if a translation extension is active (Grammarly, DeepL, etc.).
Enable screen recording
In the Configure tab, under Anti-Cheating Measures, click the menu next to Screen Recording (set to Off by default).
Choose “Suspicious Moments” or “Continuous Video” (beta).
At the start of the exam, each participant must share their entire screen; until they do so, they cannot begin.

Need to exempt a participant from screen recording? See Disable Screen Recording for a Participant
Monitoring
This section is available only to Organization plan users. If it does not appear, contact us to enable the option.
Camera monitoring: “Regular Snapshots” takes photos of the participant at regular intervals. “Continuous Video” records the camera and microphone throughout the exam.
Identity Verification: With Manual Verification, the participant verifies their identity before starting. Available only with camera monitoring. See Verify Participants’ Identities

🔒 By default, monitoring data is deleted three months after the start of the first exam session (see the FAQ below). To analyze it, see Identifying Fraud
View monitoring data
In Monitor › Live, the camera icon in the Video column opens a participant’s Remote Monitoring window (camera monitoring active).
A participant’s integrity report displays events and screenshots on a timeline. With Continuous Video, the camera or screen recording can only be viewed once the participant’s attempt is complete.
How long is monitoring data retained?
How long is monitoring data retained?
By default, 3 months from the start of the first exam session. This duration is set at your institution’s level. After this period, camera photos, screenshots, video recordings, and ID photos are automatically deleted, and the camera icon in the Video column is no longer clickable.
You will receive an email 15 days and then 1 day before the data is deleted, and another email confirming the deletion. Participants are also notified by email once the data has been deleted.
Why are there no screenshots or recordings for a participant?
Why are there no screenshots or recordings for a participant?
The option was not enabled for that exam.
With “Suspicious Moments,” the screen is only captured if the participant has left the exam: if they haven’t left, no screenshots are taken.
You disabled camera or screen recording for this participant via the ⁝ icon at the end of the line in Monitor › Live.
The attempt is not complete: the recording will be available once the attempt is complete.
The recording was interrupted (page reloaded, app switched to the background, screen sharing stopped, resolution changed, device storage full). The player will then display “No recording at this time” and the reason for the interruption.
The retention period has expired.
